| - E.C.W. - EPISCOPAL CHURCH WOMEN |
| The Episcopal Church Women, better known as E.C.W., is just what it indicates: an organization composed of the women of the church. Some of our women members have been heard to say, "I have never joined E.C.W. so do not participate in their activities." Well, here is news for those dear ladies: If you are a woman who attends St. Alban's, you are automatically a member of E.C.W.! There are no pre-requisites, no requirements, no initiation, no dues. Just enjoyable fellowship and special time together. The women meet the first Wednesday of each month, at noon, each bringing her own sack-lunch. Usually Fr. Ray, and sometimes Fr. Ted, attends. Carolyn is the current President. At some date to be announced each Spring, work begins on the Christmas Bazaar which is held the first Saturday of December. All our craft-lovers gather after the Wednesday Eucharist to create beautiful items, encouraging those who feel they have no such talent to come and help. All hands are welcome! The work sessions are full of fun and laughter and fellowship. The Christmas Bazaar is always a huge success and is touted as the best in Tillamook. The proceeds have enabled the purchase of many things for the church: carpeting for the parish hall, new stoves for our kitchen, new kitchen counters, folding doors, curtains, paint, etc. Each year we are able to liberally support C.A.R.E., the Women's Crisis Center and other community concerns. The members organize receptions for weddings, funerals, luncheons for the Bishop's visits, and other special celebrations, besides providing aid for families during illness and time of distress. To assist our youngsters, the E.C.W. buys all the Sunday School materials and offers "scholarship" help for summer camp at Triangle Lake. And so, we invite you to COME AND SEE! br/3-20-03 |
