| "The Rev. Kenneth W., 75, died Sunday, July 20, 2003, at his home in Netarts on a beautiful clear morning. Ken was born in Chico, Calif., June 7, 1928. After growing up in that town he graduated from University of California, Berkeley. He attended Church Divinity School of the Pacific to become an Episcopal priest in 1955. He served as the rector of parishes in Idaho, as well as Van Nuys and La Mirada, California. His last parish was St. Paul of the Desert, Palm Springs, California. In 1971, he received his California Marriage Family and Child Counselor License and became chief alcoholism therapist at St. Luke's Hospital, Pheonix, Arizona. Eventually he developed pastoral counseling ministries in the churches of Fullerton, Phoenix and San Diego. He found his work as a spiritual director, counselor and retreat leader the most satisfying of his career. He often said during those years that all he needed was his appointment book and his box of tissues to do what he loved. He was able to assist numerous people to find answers in their everyday challenges by putting them on a spiritual path modeled after the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. Retirement was not in his vocabulary, a vigorous loving man, he glowed from his heart with a faith that inspired all who knew him. Since 1993, before moving to Netarts in 2002, he served the people of McMinnville at the Lutheran, Episcopal and Presbyterian churches while teaching Parenting Education for the Lutheran Family Services. Married to Joan St. in 1972 in Phoenix, Arizona, they blended a family of seven children, Pamela, Graham, Peter, Douglas, Matthew, Bradley and Dana and now have nine grand-children. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Graham and brother Graham. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 26, 2 p.m., at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, with Father Ray officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Tillamook County Hospice, 100 Third St., Tillamook, OR 97141, or Tillamook County Library, 210 Ivy Ave., Tillamook OR 97141." |

| O God, whose mercies cannot be numbered: Accept our prayers on behalf of thy servant Ken, and grant him an entrance into the land of light and joy, in the fellowship of thy saints; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. |
