FOOD BASKET SUNDAY
Food Basket Sunday is always the First Sunday of the month.  During the Offertory, the food collected during the previous month is taken to the altar and blessed by Father Ray along with the bread, wine and offerings from the congregation.

Within the next day or two, the food is delivered to the C.A.R.E. office here in Tillamook.  C.A.R.E. stands for Community Action Resources Enterprises and its "Food Security Program" is one of their many programs to help those in need.
The concept of "food security" is that all members of the community have access to enough food to meet basic needs without resorting to emergency measures.

On occasion, the church office is visited by those in need of food and they are not denied.  If the Food Basket has items in it, items are taken from the Food Basket and given to them.

Please don't forget the people in our community who are in need of food.  This is an easy way to help, it
does make a difference, and it is so greatly appreciated.  Thanks for sharing and thanks for joining us at Saint Alban's on Food Basket Sunday.
