Celebrate Bishop Ladehoff's Ministry

Everyone is invited to three events in celebration of Bishop Ladehoff's
ministry.

On August 16 we'll celebrate at the Bishop's Close in Portland with a
Garden Party from 2:00 to 4:00 pm... You'll be able to wish Bishop
Ladehoff well, walk through beautiful Elk Rock Garden, and enjoy
refreshments as well as meet and greet fellow Episcopalians from around
the Diocese.  Please park at nearby Riverdale School and Christ Church
in Lake Oswego and a shuttle bus will take you to the Close.  The
address of Riverdale School is 11733 SW Breyman and Christ Church is
located at 1060 Chandler Rd. Lake Oswego.

August 23rd from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm will find us at Indian Mary Park
just west of Merlin, Oregon.  Merlin is north of Grants Pass just off
I-5.  At the park you can swim under the watchful eye of lifeguards,
enjoy a raft or dangle your feet in the water, and, of course, visit
with Bishop Ladehoff and your fellow Episcopalians from around the
state.  The mouth watering menu includes salmon and Virginia ham with
music provided by the "Easy Valley Eight.' If you wish to spend the
night in Grants Pass, make a reservation at the Riverside Inn by calling
1-800-334-4567. Be sure to tell them you are with the Diocese of Oregon
and receive a special rate..

Triangle Lake Center is our final destination. It's a picnic for
everyone, hamburgers and hot dogs, with music by the 'Lab Band' from
Coquille beginning at 11:00 am and ending at 3:00 pm. It is at this
location that Bishop Ladehoff breaks ground for the Robert and Jean
Ladehoff Chapel, a special event for all of us.  Should you wish to
spend a night or two at Triangle Lake, make your reservations now by
calling (541) 927-6132 or send an e-mail to service@trianglelake.com.

Most exciting of all the 'Cross of Continuity' designed by Jenny Beloit
and made by the Children of the Diocese, will be at each location.  We
think it is beautiful and want you to see it.

Don't forget to send in your RSVP card that came in your copy of the
Oregon Episcopal Church News. If you lost the RSVP card, please ask your
pastor for another.

One final reminder:  all of the celebration events are free of charge.
