NORTHWEST HOUSE OF THEOLOGICAL STUDIES "MAKING A DIFFERENCE LOCALLY"
.
The Northwest House of Theological Studies, located in Salem, serves thirty students with high quality theological education, delivered on weekends so that working people can pursue divinity degrees. About a third of the students are Episcopalian; others are United Methodist, United Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, and Presbyterian. Carol Brown, a Tillamook County leader for many years, is a student at NHTS. Others have come from throughout the Willamette Valley, as well as from southwest Washington. NHTS offers theological education for laity. After taking six courses, a student can earn the valuable Lay Certificate in Theological Education. Lay theological training is especially important (and enjoyable!) for church musicians, lay pastors, Stephen ministers, and advanced lay scholars. The Collins Foundation is an investor in NHTS and invites your participation through a matching grant. Contributions to NHTS made through June 19, 2004, will qualify for matching funds. For further information on this theological education, or for making a contribution to NHTS, telephone the House at 503 588 4344 or write to the Northwest House of Theological Studies at 600 State Street, Salem, Oregon 97301.
